Green Tie Award

USGBC Arkansas honors green building standouts

Uptown Fayetteville Apartments and Shops were honored by US Green Building Council Arkansas with the Green Tie Award for Residential Project of the Year.  The Green Tie awards are presented annually to honor projects, organizations, and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to bringing green buildings to everyone across Arkansas.

Presenting the award on behalf of USGBC, Jim Chidester cited permeable parking, bioswales, a green roof, and a commitment to recycling as sustainable features that merited the honor.

Accepting the award, SREG President Seth Mims said, “The heart of our mission is to connect people with neighbors and nature, and USGBC has completely led the way for us. Thank you for informing us and inspiring us, and for all you do to make Arkansas a leader in sustainable development.”

The Green Tie Awards were presented last week at the Robinson Center in Little Rock.
