The Cardinal at West Center, completed last summer, has achieved LEED Gold Certification. LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. The certification means that the building will have a lighter environmental footprint for years to come. The Cardinal was designed with energy efficient lighting, heating, and air conditioning systems, as well as native landscaping including a green screen on the parking deck. Other green measures include low-VOC paints and finishes, and bird-friendly glass in the main lobby.
The Cardinal is the third LEED certified multifamily project in the state. All three properties are Specialized Real Estate Group developments.
